Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the North Pillar Consulting website and any services provided by North Pillar Consulting ("North Pillar," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by the terms set out below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.
01Services
North Pillar Consulting provides consulting services which may include strategy, branding, content, web development, and related digital work. The specific scope, deliverables, timelines, and fees for any engagement are defined in a separate written agreement or proposal between North Pillar and the client. This website is informational and does not itself constitute an offer of services or a binding contract.
02Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to provide accurate information, timely feedback, and any materials reasonably required for North Pillar to perform the agreed services. Delays caused by a client's failure to provide necessary input may affect project timelines and are not the responsibility of North Pillar.
03Fees & Payment
Fees, milestones, currency, and delivery timelines are set out in the applicable proposal or agreement. North Pillar bills on a milestone basis: an invoice for a given session or milestone is issued only after that work has been completed, delivered, revised as reasonably required, and accepted by the client. Clients are not required to pay in advance for work that has not yet been delivered. Unless otherwise stated, invoices are payable upon receipt or by the date specified on the invoice. Payments are processed through third-party providers, currently Stripe and PayPal, and are subject to those providers' terms.
03aRefunds & Cancellation
Because payment follows delivery, clients pay only for milestones that have been completed and accepted. If North Pillar is unable to complete an engagement, the client is issued a pro rata refund for any milestone that was paid for but not delivered. Where work was undertaken but an agreed milestone was not reached, that work is not charged to the client. Refunds, where owed, are returned to the original payment method within the timeframe set by the applicable payment processor. Either party may terminate an engagement in writing; the client remains responsible only for milestones already completed and accepted up to that point.
04Intellectual Property
Ownership of final deliverables transfers to the client upon full payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing. North Pillar retains ownership of any underlying tools, frameworks, templates, and pre-existing materials used to produce those deliverables. North Pillar may reference completed work in its portfolio and marketing unless the client requests otherwise in writing.
05Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any non-public information shared during an engagement and to use it solely for the purpose of performing or receiving the services. This obligation continues after the engagement ends.
06Website Use
The content on this website is provided for general information only. While we aim to keep it accurate and current, we make no warranties as to its completeness or reliability. You agree not to misuse this website, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or use it in any way that could damage or impair its operation.
07Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, North Pillar Consulting is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use of this website or the delivery of services. Our total liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement.
08Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any external site and provide such links for convenience only.
09Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
